As a result, this throws a check engine light (unit, SES, DTC) with error codes typically p0420 (catalyst system efficiency below threshold library 1) and / or p0430 p0420 catalyst system efficiency below threshold library 2).

General Description
This stainless steel O2 sensor spacer (also known as a mini catalytic converter simulator) is designed to prevent check engine lights (P0420 and P0430 error codes) that occur when a catalytic converter is removed or replaced.
It works by moving the rear oxygen sensor slightly out of the direct exhaust flow, simulating proper catalytic converter efficiency.
Made from high-quality stainless steel, it is durable, corrosion-resistant, and fits most vehicles with M18 x 1.5 threaded O2 sensor bungs.
The set includes two spacers for dual-sensor setups.
